Vintage is RAD

While everybody knows that the late 70s through the early 90s were some of the raddest years the United States has ever seen, many people still seem to frown on vintage goods. While there are certainly tons of bogus and uncool vintage stores and merchandise out there, most of that is marketed soley at emo and hipster fags. When you sort through all that garbage you come to realize that vintage IS rad, in fact probably more rad than anything you can find produced in the last ten years.

Gran Torino

Gran Torino is probably one of the best movies so far in 2009. Though some of the actors are kind of awful (namely the priest), this is easily made up by Clint Eastwood’s performance.

The Bug is the fourth and final UK single from the album On Every Street, and it also was the Dire Straits’ final single release in the UK. This video is lesser known than some of their other smash hits but is equally enjoyable.

New Order Released the single Bizarre Love Triangle in 1986. Though it is regarded as one of their best singles, it failed to make the UK Top 40. In 2004 Bizarre Love Triangle was ranked #201 in Rolling Stone’s “The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time”. The single can be found on the New Order compilation titled “Substance”

January is often referred to as “Generals Month” since no less than four famous Confederate Generals claimed January as their birth month: James Longstreet (Jan. 8, 1821), Robert E. Lee (Jan. 19, 1807), Thomas Jonathan “Stonewall” Jackson (Jan. 21, 1824), and George Pickett (Jan. 28, 1825). Two of these men, Lee and Jackson, are particularly noteworthy.
